في ظل التحولات الاقتصادية والتطورات العالمية، تبدو منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا (MENA) مرآة تعكس التوترات والصراعات المعاصرة. فالزيارة الأخيرة لدولة ذات نفوذ اقتصادي كبير إلى لبنان تحمل دلالاتها الواضحة على الرغبة المشتركة في دفع عجلة التعاون الثنائي وتعزيز النمو الاقتصادي. ومن ناحية أخرى، يظل المشهد السياسي الداخلي للبنان مليئًا بالغموض خصوصًا فيما يتعلق بالقضايا المتعلقة بالنيابات العامة والتي تعد جزء أساسيا من منظومة الحكم والحفاظ على سيادة القانون. وفي نفس السياق، شهد العالم العربي مؤخرًا نشاط ملحوظ في قطاع الطاقة خاصة فيما يتعلق باستخراج وإنتاج أنواع مختلفة منها بما فيها الغاز الطبيعي والذي يعتبر مصدر رزق هاما لمعظم دول المنطقة. كما أنها فرصة سانحة أمام الفرق الرياضية لإبراز براعتها وبلوغ المنافسة الدولية التي بدورها ترسخ مكانتها ومكانة رياضات الشعوب العربية عالميًا. أما بالنسبة للاقتصاد، فقد لوحظ ارتفاع وانخفاض معدلات عملات متعددة مقارنة بعملات أخرى وهو ما يؤثر بلا شك على التجارة الخارجية والنظام النقدي العام لكل دولة مشاركة. وبالتالي، أصبح جليا أكثر فأكثر ضرورة التنسيق المتزايد بين الدول العربية بشأن جميع الأصعدة سواء تلك المرتبطة بالأمن الغذائي/الطاقوي وحتى تلك الاجتماعية/الثقافية وذلك قصد مجابهة أي مخاطر محتملة مستقبلا وضمان مستقبل مزدهر لشعوب المنطقة.
